Vlkolínec: The unique mountain village is unique by the fact that all of its territory is the only in Slovakia that remained intact by new construction. In 1993 Vlkolínec was entered into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Špania Dolina: A beautiful medieval mining village; in the piles of mining activity it is still possible to find precious minerals.

Mining water main: A remnant of a unique medieval water main, which supplied water from Donovaly to Špania Dolina.

Harmanecká Cave: A stalactite cave “room” called Izbica.

• Railway tunnels on the trail Banská Bystrica - Horná Štubňa – An adventure railway, where the travel in tunnels takes turn with views into the valleys of Veľká Fatra. The trail has a total of 29 tunnels.
• Canals for floating timber in the Bystrická Valley.

Winter activities:

11 km of ski slopes with various difficultness. 15 ski-lifts and 1 cable car. Beginners can use services of the ski school Patty ski located next to the apartment house Aplend Donovaly - Kamzík. Less experienced skiers will enjoy skiing on the ski slopes Záhradište, the more experienced ones can conquer Nová hoľa with its red and black ski slopes. Freeride lovers can try the old ski trail from Nová hoľa to Donovaly and other terrains. On the ski slope Záhradište there is also built a fun park for snowboarders and acrobatic skiers. Cross-country skiing lovers can make tours to Šachtičky, Krížna, Hiadeľské sedlo and to other places of the Low Tatras National Park.

Even in winter you can use the services of the thermal pools in Bešeňová with water temperature of 36 to 40°C or the swimming pool in Banská Bystrica.
